ENFORCEMENT SECTION
Enforcement Section is entrusted with the activities for Enforcement of various control orders issued under the Essential Commodities Act 1955. Enforcement official are posted in all 11 talukas of Goa and at the Head
Office it is comprising mostly of one Inspectors and One-Sub inspector (Civil Supplies).
The inspectorial staffs at taluka do inspection of kerosene retailers, Fair Price Shops, Foodstuff dealers and Commercial Establishment and submit their report to the Director of Civil Supplies and sometimes conduct surprise raid.
Further, complains are entertained from general public in writing as well as verbally. In case a complain is received in writing the same is sent confidentially to the taluka level for report and to initiate necessary action under the power delegated to them in the control order, verbal complains are entertained by Director of Civil Supplies and Asstt. Director of Civil Supplies.
In case of any irregularities noticed in the inspection report submitted by inspectorial staff a Show Cause Notice is served on the licencee and reply is sought from the party. If the reply is found on satisfactory ground the case is wounded up, but in case if the reply is not satisfactory than a fine is imposed on the dealers. Vide orders issued from the Head office. If the same is continued than the licence is proposed for cancellation.
